Land Registration etc (Scotland) Act 2012

The Land Registration etc. (Scotland) Act 2012 came into force on 8 December 2014 and introduces a new scheme of land registration. This also brings with it the ambitious target of completing the Land Register of Scotland by 2024.

The Act brought along a new strict set of mapping criteria with the requirement for much more accurate maps than ever before. If a plan is not up to standard then the whole application can simply be rejected by the Registers of Scotland which will be costly and both time consuming.

Bell Ingram’s mapping and GIS staff are highly skilled and have the experience required to prepare plans to these exacting standards. Our established history of lands management along with our investment in state of the art software and field equipment means that we can handle anything from a single plot to a vast highland estate. We are also able to offer deed boundaries in an electronic form which can be passed directly to the Registers of Scotland to make the whole registration processes easier.
