The Old Sawmill is situated in a quiet location in the village of Lairg, within walking distance of all the facilities.

Lairg is situated at the southern end of Loch Shin and is surrounded by some of the best Highland scenery in the north of Scotland. The east and west coasts are easily accessed with Dornoch and Golspie providing amenities on the east with a good selection of fine beaches and golf course. Ullapool and Lochinver on the west coast are popular destinations and all the towns have a good selection of facilities including shops, school and hotels.

Lairg has a range of shops, mobile bank which comes twice a week and a doctor's surgery. There is a railway station with services to Inverness, Wick and Thurso. The nearest airport is at Inverness where there are a variety of services including Flybe, Easy Jet and BA to London Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Bristol.

There is ample opportunity for recreational activity with plenty of choice for the hillwalker and mountaineer. The rivers and lochs provide good sport for the fisherman and there are several golf courses including, Dornoch, Golspie, and the exclusive Skibo Castle. Other sporting activities include shooting deer and stalking.

From Inverness take the A9 north crossing the Kessock and Cromarty Bridges. After Evanton turn left on the B9176 signposted Lairg and Bonar Bridge. Continue for some 14 miles turning left on the A836 just before Ardgay. In Bonar Bridge turn left just after the bridge and Lairg will be reached in approximately 11 miles. Continue to the centre of the town, turning right into the main street towards Rogart. Laundry Road is on the left Turn into Laundry Road and continue until your reach The Old Sawmill on the right-hand side.
