There is also a community hub with gym and soft play. The Royal Burgh of Dornoch is some 12 miles to the east and offers a wide range of facilities including the secondary school, hotels, restaurants, sandy beaches and the well-known Royal Dornoch Golf Course. Tain which is 13 miles east has a good range of supermarkets and a secondary school which means there is the choice of this school or Dornoch School.
Inverness, the Capital of the Highlands, is reached in little under an hour's drive and has a modern shopping centre, hospital, theatre, cinemas and mainline railway station. Inverness Airport has a variety of services to destinations both domestic and overseas. These include Flybe, BA and Easyjet to London Gatwick, Heathrow, Birmingham, Belfast, Manchester, Bristol and Amsterdam.
