From Kilmarnock take the A76 to Dumfries. Once in Mauchline take the left hand turn at the crossroads onto the B743 (Sorn Road). Follow the B743 until Sorn village. After passing Sorn Primary School on the left take the first right over the River Ayr. The private access track to the woodland will be the first turning on the left just after the bend in the road. Old Avenue Woodland is located on the outskirts of Sorn Village off the B713 approximately 5 miles to the east of Mauchline. The A76 is located just 3 miles to the west providing good links to both Kilmarnock in the North and Cumnock in the South.
