The Royal Burgh of Dornoch is some 12 miles to the east and offers a wide range of facilities including hotels, restaurants, sandy beaches and the well-known Royal Dornoch Golf Course.

From Inverness take the A9 north crossing the Kessock and Cromarty Bridges. Continue on the A9 and after Evanton turn left onto the B9176 to Bonar Bridge. After crossing the Bonar Bridge turn left and follow the road until you reach a right hand turn just after the old estate houses. Take this turn and then turn right again and Mactalla Na Mara is on the right across from two wooden garages.
