Heatherview is situated on the outskirts of the village of Galson on the Barra to Butt cycle route which concludes at the Ness Lighthouse. There is a shop, garage and leisure centre in Eoropie to the North. The area has stunning beaches and scenery.   Buses run to the local primary schools and secondary schooling can be found in Stornoway.

Stornoway has a bustling town centre and harbour and a variety of shops and supermarkets.

Regular ferries sail to Ullapool and Loganair flies to Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as short flights to Benbecula.



Travelling from Stornoway passing the Western Isle Hospital, following the main roadway across the Barvas Moor and pass through the villages of Barvas, Ballantrushal, Airdhantium, Borve and Melbost, until you reach Galson. Travelling towards the end of the village you will see a turning to your left hand side, sign posted for North Galson. Heatherview is located on the main roadway just after this sign to your right hand side.
