Description

Easter Achnahanat is a traditional stone built croft house which has been tastefully extended, modernised and renovated to create a delightful home in a tranquil, secluded and rural location close to Culrain.   Retaining many original features including beamed ceilings, wood paneling, cast iron and stone fireplaces, the property oozes charm and character. Set in approximately 2.6 acres (0.52ha) of ground including a natural burn with bathing pool.

The property is approached via a track to an enclosed garden. A hardwood door opens to the rustic entrance porch which is also used as a log store.    A further hardwood door leads to the tiled hallway where access is gained to bedroom 1, bathroom 1 and the sitting room. Stairs rise to the upper floor.

To the right of the hallway is bedroom 1 which is a spacious room with dual aspect windows enjoying rural views. There is fixed pine book shelving to one wall and a cast iron fireplace housing a multi-fuel stove.

Bathroom 1 has a three-piece suite in white with a wash hand basin, WC and bath which is fully tiled around and has a telephone style shower attachment and Mira electric shower over, the bathroom also benefits from underfloor heating.

The sitting room sits to the left of the hall and has dual aspect windows enjoying the delightful water views. The original fireplace with stone surround and slate hearth housing a multi-fuel stove creates an eye-catching feature and makes for cosy evenings. There are two storage cupboards and recessed shelving.

A door leads to the kitchen/dining room which features a country style kitchen with a good range of pine floor and wall units, with stone worktops, throughout. There is racked pan storage above the immaculate AGA. There is plenty of room for a dining table to the far end of the room. There is under worktop space for fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

From the kitchen, you enter a second entrance porch which takes you to the front garden and to the rear hallway which houses a linen cupboard. From here access is gained to bedroom 2 and bathroom 2.    Bedroom 2 is the largest bedroom and has dual aspect windows again enjoying the open water views.

Adjacent is bathroom 2 which has a three-piece suite in white. The bath is fully tiled around and has a mains shower over. This bathroom also has underfloor heating and built-in cupboard storage.

Returning to the main hallway, stairs lead to a landing which has eaves storage on both sides. Bedrooms 3 and 4 are both double rooms, have coombed ceilings, wood panelling features and dual aspect windows looking to the Kyle of Sutherland.

The old milk room, accessed via the rear of the property, provides opportunity for storage.
