Description

The woodland was established during the 1940s and 1950s with predominantly Scots pine, with Norway spruce, European larch and some Grand fir. Parts of the woodland suffered storm damage in the late 2000s and have been restocked with native mixed broadleaves and natural regeneration of predominantly birch.

Lot 1 comprises 1.31 hectares of thicket stage native mixed broadleaves, with a small paddock at the north west end suitable for grazing or woodland expansion. (Guide price - £10,000)

Lot 2 extends to 4.82 hectares of diverse conifer and broadleaf woodland. The conifers are reaching maturity, while the broadleaves are young and well established. Scots pine dominates the conifer mix, but there are also Norway spruce and larch present. (Guide price £45,000)

Coull Woodland is located approximately 2 miles North of Aboyne and 30 miles West of Aberdeen in the heart of Royal Deeside with its outstanding natural scenery. The woodland sits in the valley of the Tarland Burn on flat fertile soils. The property is well serviced with good access onto the public road and well located for local sawmills.

From the A93 trunk road in Aboyne take the B9094 north towards Tarland. The entrance into the woodland can be found just over 1.5 miles along this road on the right hand side. The entrance is at grid reference NJ 513 009.
