Bell Ingram co-ordinates free accommodation for NHS workers during lockdown
Rural land and business specialists Bell Ingram are co-ordinating free accommodation to support key NHS workers in the Highlands during the coronavirus lockdown.
The company’s Highland office in Beauly has responded to pleas from the NHS to help find temporary housing for key workers during the COVID-19 crisis.
The accommodation is needed to help NHS staff self-isolate from families and friends, so they can continue their valuable work in local hospitals and medical practices.
Through existing clients and other local providers, Bell Ingram’s Highland team are in the process of co-ordinating the provision of holiday lets and second homes to doctors, nurses and ambulance drivers, free of charge.
Charlotte Gilfillan, from Bell Ingram’s Highland office, said: “While this is a heart-breaking time for all involved, both we and our clients recognise that the Highlands has limited resources to aid in the fight against coronavirus.
“The tourism industry across the Highlands has been badly hit by the outbreak and has resulted in many cancelled holiday bookings and properties standing empty. By offering these properties free of charge to NHS workers, we hope to help support local Highland communities and their vital healthcare services.”
