Bell Ingram Partner Sarah Tyson spoke last week to students at SRUC Edinburgh and Craibstone campuses as part of her role as external examiner for the BA Rural Business Management course.
At Bell Ingram our clients benefit from cutting edge geospatial technology. Our Head of Mapping, Chris Duncan, has created software that takes mapping data and creates a 3D model of woodland. This has significant benefits for Public Consultation, Environmental Impact Assessments and Forestry Commission planting approvals.
The image below is a woodland creation proposal in Perth and Kinross, created by overlaying a 3D model of the proposed planting onto a photograph. The 3D model was rendered from our in-house developed 3D forestry plugin for QGIS using Python and Three.js.
