Woodland Certification

Bell Ingram’s forest managers help woodland owners to maintain compliance with the United Kingdom Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS).

This is an independent certification standard for verifying sustainable woodland management in the UK, which ensures access to timber markets and a premium price for certified timber.

The standard also means that we aim to maintain, enhance, protect and preserve the following when managing forests and woodlands for our clients:

  • Soil productivity
  • Atmospheric quality
  • Biological diversity
  • Special species and habitats
  • Important archaeological sites.

Group Certification Scheme

Bell Ingram is committed to responsible forest management. Our Group Certification Scheme is independently audited and accredited by Soil Association to the requirements of both the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) and Programme for the Environment of Forest Certification (PEFC™).

Bell Ingram also complies with the UK Forestry Standard for sustainable management, as well as all other requirements of Scottish Forestry and Forestry Commission.

Please contact Bell Ingram’s forest team to discuss the specific benefits certification will bring to your forest. An initial site visit from our managers will advise you of the most suitable way forward.
