Ty Cymro is a delightful thatched black house which has been renovated and upgraded to provide the most beautiful and comfortable accommodation in an idyllic setting on Berneray. The property is tastefully decorated and has oak flooring throughout with exception of the bathroom which is tiled. Ty Cymro is a very stylish and well-presented home, equally suited as a permanent home or holiday home with excellent letting potential.

A field gate gives access to the garden ground. A hardwood stable door leads to the hallway which has a useful storage cupboard.

A door to the left leads to the open plan kitchen living room which has triple aspect windows enjoying sea and croft views.   The kitchen area has fitted shelving offering plenty of storage with solid beech worksurface. There is a Hotpoint oven and grill with ceramic hob and stainless-steel splashback and space for a fridge freezer. The kitchen has plumbing in place for a washing machine and dishwasher. The spacious sitting room area has a vaulted ceiling with pine panelling.

There is a mezzanine level which is accessed via a hatch above the kitchen which offers excellent storage.

The bathroom sits off the hall and is fully tiled to two walls and floor. It has pine panelling to two walls and shelving for towels and storage. There is a three-piece suite in white comprising bath, WC and wash hand basin with mains shower over the bath.

The bedroom sits to the end of the hall and has dual aspect windows to the front over the croftland and to the rear overlooking the sea.

The property sits in good size garden grounds which are mainly laid to grass. The boundary is fully fenced to three sides with the remaining side running down to the waters edge. Wildlife is abundant with seabirds, otters and seals frequently spotted from the property.

There is further development potential with a former byre which has power (not connected) and mains water. Planning Permission has been in place previously for a further bedroom, bathroom and utility room.

Ty Cymro is situated in a conservation area at the edge of Bays Loch on the naturally beautiful island of Berneray in the Outer Hebrides. Located in the Sound of Harris and linked via a causeway from North Uist or a ferry to Leverburgh/Harris. Berneray is famed for its tranquillity and abundance of birdlife and wildlife. It has numerous beautiful sandy beaches to enjoy. It has a busy tourist trade and Ty Cymro is in the perfect location to be suited as a family home or a business. The island has three hotels, a community centre, a bistro/general store, a local shop/post office and a primary school. There is a fortnightly doctors surgery. Berneray is only 11 miles from the ferry terminal at Lochmaddy and 30 miles from the airport at Balivanich.

From Lochmaddy Ferry Terminal take the only road out of the village. At the junction take the right hand turn signposted Berneray and Sound of Harris Ferry. Follow this road for about four miles until you see a further sign turn right again. In about three miles you come to Port nan Long turn right again as before and in about two miles turn left over the cattle grid, again signed as before. Go over the causeway, past the ferry and continue until you come to a T junction. Turn right signed Borve. Follow this road through the village (past the harbour and Post Office) and after two miles take the right hand turn, up a small incline, and continue until you reach the end of the road. Ty Cymro is the last property on the right (the one closest to the sea) in front of the Old School House.
