The original cottage is over 100 years old with extensions and modernisation carried out in the mid-1990s. A number of extensions and alterations were carried out in 2000s.

It is a detached traditional cottage with a detailed pitched slate roof. There are several seating balconies which take full advantage of the views. The cottage has a unique mix of beautiful timber features throughout including bespoke fitted furniture, exposed timbers and vaulted ceilings with exposed beams. The choice of public rooms and bedrooms allows for the cottage to be used in a variety of ways.

The timber constructed studio/office also houses an external spa and an internal sauna, steam room and a gym area. A glazed door leads from external decking and inside it is fully pine lined. The initial entrance provides space for gym equipment, storage cupboard, roof light and windows overlooking the gardens. The sauna and steam room are located here. The office has skylight windows and windows overlooking the garden. Built-in office furniture includes computer desk and table, storage units and book shelving, power, light, water and a telephone point.

Sitting in a superb elevated position in the foothills of the Sidlaws, and commanding breathtaking far reaching views south over the Carse of Gowrie, the River Tay and the hills beyond, Pitlowie Cottage lies in a highly accessible but secluded setting midway between Perth and Dundee. Both cities offer an excellent range of amenities.

The Sidlaw Hills provide a beautiful backdrop for Pitlowie Cottage, with scope for an abundance of recreational opportunities. Nearby golf courses are found at Murrayshall and Perth, with Rosemount, Gleneagles, St Andrews and Carnoustie all within easy driving distance. Fishing can be taken on the River Tay, and there is horse racing and polo at Scone Palace. Perth is a gateway to the Highlands for outdoor activities including hill walking and ski-ing.

From Perth the A90 links to the M90 south to Edinburgh, whilst the A9 and M9/M80 link westwards to
Stirling and Glasgow, and the A9 heads north to Inverness. The A90 continues north east to Dundee and on to Aberdeen. There are mainline railway stations at Dundee and Perth. Dundee Airport has a direct service to London Stansted.

Nearby Perth is considered one of the most desirable locations in the United Kingdom. The city centre has an excellent range of shops and professional services.
