Consultation on control of Forestry Commission to end

Did you know that the Scottish Forestry sector is worth over £1billion to the UK Economy and supports over 25,000 jobs?

It is with no surprise that the Scottish Government are pushing for devolution of this profitable sector. Proposals include the creation of a new body to manage the country’s forests, a dedicated Holyrood Forestry Division, and a new legislative framework.

Consultation on the future of forestry management in Scotland began on 1st September 2016 and will end on 9th November 2016.
